Staging Our Futures Masterclass Programme
In addition to the Staging Our Futures artistic programme, which has seen us commission four new pieces of work at differing stages of development, we are ambitious for disabled artists and want to create the best possible opportunities to come together, to share ideas and to learn together. A major commitment of our Staging Our Futures programme, made possible through the Arts Council Emergency Response Fund, is to ensure disabled artists remain visible, connected and able to practice.
We have created a professional development Staging Our Futures Masterclass Programme, running 10 online Masterclasses for disabled artists in the sector between August and November 2020, with an additional 2 Masterclasses focussing on Disability Equality in Art and Culture aimed at venues and organisations.
We have welcomed a range of accomplished and experienced practitioners from the Disability Arts sector, and beyond, in to Little Cog to design and deliver masterclasses ranging from artform specialisms to business know-how! We have Garry Robson on Directing, Rosie Jones on Comedy for Disabled Women, Kaite O'Reilly on Playwriting, Cheryl Martin on Making Autobiographical Work Safely, Robyn Keynes on Elements of Producing - 2 sessions: Artists Pitching their Work and all important secrets to Budgeting 101, ESKA looking at the voices and wellbeing, Nicki Miles-Wildin on directing for Zoom, Cheryl Martin on autobiographical work, as well as Disability Equality masterclasses for the North East theatre sector led by Little Cog’s AD Vici Wreford-Sinnott.
Little Cog’s Masterclasses:
• Will deliver a series of professional and artistic development masterclasses to maintain professional connections, skills, focus, and development for potentially isolated disabled artists.
• Have been identified in communication with disabled artists to create artform specific masterclasses, and themed masterclasses such as professional development, pitching your work, working online and more.
• Will be delivered online with all access requirements met. Recordings will be available to other disabled artists online.
Full online masterclass programme to be announced, please see below for confirmed masterclasses with dates and info:
