Workshop Bonanza and Festival Anthem Launch
Our Amazing Guest Artists
Gary Bowden
Gary ran an amazing day of drumming and percussion having prepared some beats and sounds in advance for our lovely drummers. Everyone had a fantastic time as Gary is so lovely to work with - especially when you get to make a tune with beautiful metal goblets! Our drummers were beaming with excitement to provide the rhythm of the piece for singers and dancers and even had a wonderful musical mic drop moment. |
Bridie Jackson
Bridie was the composer and co-writer of our brand new Festival Anthem - Our Stomping Ground - along with Full Circle members and friends. Bridie spent time with the group before the festival and once she had a recording, sent it to Gary and Kelly and Amy at Urban Kaos for them to prepare their workshops for the launch. It was a huge success with everyone singing the anthem for days...and many years to come! |
Urban Kaos
What a day our dancers had with Amy and Kelly. We had a mix of dancers with experience and some who had never attended a dance workshop or performed on stage before! Amy and Kelly came up with some brilliant choreography before the day, and then responded to the group of dancers they worked with to create a really fun and powerful dance. So many people commented on the fantastic dancers.

The Short Short Film Festival
ARCtic Piranha Daytime Rave
DJ Teissy Easton and ARCtic Piranha
Day time dancing is allowed! In fact it's encouraged at Our Stomping Grounds. We were delighted to be joined again by the amazing DJ Teissy who knows exactly how to get people on the dance floor. The energy was fantastic and everyone was up dancing and connecting with each other. This is one of the best things about the festival, old friends get together and new friends are made. Brilliant tunes and shapes were just what everyone needed after the Big Packed Lunch and before the Stomp! Cabaret.

Our Amazing Guest Artist
Leannea Johnson
We were delighted to invite Leannea Johnson to facilitate and choreograph our Red Carpet Catwalk for the Stomp! Cabaret. Leannea is a performer, singer, dancer and entertainer and has worked out of the region for several year entertaining people all over the country. She expressed an interest in the concept of the catwalk and as we had worked with Leannea previously - she was one of the emerging directors in our RTYDS programme and has been part of our artists networks and crucial conversations for disabled artists - we suggested that she might want to actually lead the workshops and work with the group to choreograph the piece. Everyone had a fantastic time experimenting with costumes, props, characters and power poses. Leannea always brings so much energy and positivity to any working space, so it was an absolute pleasure to reconnect.
