Paul Wilshaw Festival Spoken Word
Paul is a very experienced writer, actor, engagement advocate, and one of the UK's leading learning-disabled producers. We are thrilled that he is our artist in residence and, as such, will capture festival moments in bite-sized, reflective poetry that he will deliver at the Stomp Cabaret on 27 November. We can't wait to welcome him, and you!
Urban Kaos – brand new dance piece: Powerful Beyond Measure
Urban Kaos were commissioned to collaborate with a group of learning-disabled performers to create a new dance piece on the theme of Leadership. Over the past 2 months, they have been meeting, creating and rehearsing with Teesside-based Clover Group, Performing Arts Student Philip Dawes, and, for the second time, OSG Festival performer Steven Hodgson, to come up with a show-stopping performance. We can’t wait for you to see this incredible premiere.
David Courtney Singing Nickelback
David is a singer based in Teesside and this is his second time singing at the OSG Festival.is singing a couple of Nickelback tracks in true frontman style. David is also a member Jigsaw Theatre Training Group and will be performing with them during the Cabaret.
Full Circle - Freedom Road movement piece
Our Freedom Then and Now from Future Arts Centres is a national arts project involving 60 arts centres. They commissioned Full Circle to create a brand new piece of work called ‘Freedom Road: it's been a long, long march for us' which is a mix of spoken word and live performance. This will be its live performance premiere.
Jigsaw – Leadership is…
Jigsaw Theatre Training Group bridges the gaps in knowledge about learning disability, piece by piece, to create a whole picture. Jigsaw consists of a group of learning disabled performers and/or those who have experienced mental health conditions. Jigsaw Theatre aim to bring awareness to their local community and to build peoples’ knowledge of learning disabilities. Their piece explores leadership and is called ‘Leadership is…’
Paul Willows Singing Roy Orbison
Paul is based in Teesside, and is a DJ who loves singing. In the Stomp Cabaret Paul sings his tribute to megastar Roy Orbison.
Brass Eyed Dragons – Live band
Brass Eyed Dragons are a theatrical doom rock band who regularly gig in the Teesside area. They are popular and play fantastic music which is guaranteed to get people up dancing. We are thrilled to have them back for a return visit!
