Vici (she/her) trained as a theatre director, playwright, and actor at the University of Kent at Canterbury, and founded her first theatre company one year after graduating when she didn't see either stories she wanted to hear, or stories that reflected people like her on stage. cirque des femmes was one of the first feminist theatre companies in the North East. Her national touring and television work is critically acclaimed, and she is dedicated to testing her practice in theatre robustly with each new piece of work she makes. She has a drag alter ego called Raquelle Squelch derived from cabaret culture, and is committed to theatre which puts disabled women centre-stage. Vici is completing a PhD in Radical Acts of Representation: Creating Disabled-Women Led Practice in Theatre and Television and is regarded as a leading authority in disability representation in performance, and equitable practice in the arts. She is invited to speak internationally to arts leaders and disabled peoples' organisations about her model of disabled-led equity practice in a mainstream setting - Cultural Shift - developed at ARC Stockton over a 12 year period.
